Good choice of kit. Pretty straightforward. Kit's about 35 years old. Only advice I'd give is take your time, think a few steps ahead and dry fit to check that alls going to fit as it should.
Looks good so far - especially the paint.
As far as glue goes, don't apply it straight from the yellow tube, dollop a bit on a scrap bit of cardboard or something, and apply with a cocktail stick. Also, what did you use to glue in the windows? A lot of people use a thin bead of white PVA glue or a product like glue-in-glaze which won't do any harm to the clear plastic.
Keep at it, the fact that you're having fun is half the battle!

I did the dry fit check first and it seemed okay, I am trying to take my time with it as I want to be able to look back once I've done loads more and still be happy with it lol
I tried to do a little dot and dab with the tube will definitely cocktail stick it next time, I noticed the glue ran and bulged a little after that and for the windows i just assumed the same thing would work, but that is one if the things im slightly annoyed with is the window fitment.
I wouldn't beat yourself up - I've been modelling for years and still balls-up clear parts. I doubt the ones in the Landrover are the best fit in the world anyway. One of the great things about this hobby is you never stop learning.
This is good stuff to use - Glue-N-Glaze. There are other brands like Humbrol's clearfix but it's pretty much the same stuff. It's a water-based glue that doesn't melt the plastic, so if you make a mess you can clear it up with a damp cotton bud, or remove it all completely and start again.
Its all a learning curve I'll probably balls up a couple before I get that knackered of it, it's part of it.
I'll definitely get some of that, could do with someone that's been around the models for some time giving me pointers on what's good and what's not and what to buy and what to stay away from lol
