Is this kit too ambitious for my first plastic model ?

No kit is too ambitious, but you may not meet your own expectations on the first few kits.

Just take your time. Study the instructions and as Bob says don't be too critical of your work. Most importantly, enjoy the hobby.

If you want to make a good job of it go and do a few cheap tamiya kits first to get the hang of it

As I remember it's an oldish kit not up to tamiya standards and the decals are a bit of a pain

If it goes wrong don't get discouraged

Great, give it a go after all what’s the worst that can happen?

You’ll hopefully finish it and be pleased with the result but if you don’t you will learn stuff along the way, either way win, win
