IMG-20250925-WA0078.jpg IMG-20250925-WA0075.jpg 20250925_160936.jpg So, as I'm now 60, wifey bought me the top wish on the bucket list - fly a Spitfire.

So, last Thursday with beautiful weather i arrived at Biggin Hill and went up.

Words aren't enough to describe this, my Spit was an original from the Battle of Britain, and my pilot and I soon realised we had the same humour so decided to enjoy the 30 minutes, he took it on a full dive and turn, evasive manoeuvres and of course, two victory roles.

He the handed the controls to me for 10 mins (you get taught all the basic controls at briefing including how to parachute )

It is absolutely so sensitive, literally a inch to the left/right and she's banking same for forward/backwards.

This aircraft was built in 1943 and is incredible considering its age.

You get a free hangar tour for you a 4 friends, a certificate of proof of flying the Spit, Spitfire pilots notebook, and two GroPro videos of you flying, one over the shoulder forward view and one facing camera.

I'm still grinning.
