Myself and the wifey watched it over the weekend, and both thought that even though it`s not a bad film to watch, it was totally over hyped, not enough tank on tank scenes for me.

I bought it on Saturday.
Watched it that evening...and although it passed a few hours, it wouldn't be a film I'd watch again, and one of the reviews on the box says something similar to "Best War film since Saving Private Ryan"...whoever said that (IMO) was talking out of their rear end.

I find it very hard to believe that even with limited battle harden troops...3-4 Tiger's, various anti tank weapons and an SS battalion etc....that the Germans seemed to be portrayed as a rather useless fighting force.
I do agree with you that they actually portrayed the german as rather ineffective at their job. But I just liked seeing the tanks and vehicles. I also found it funny the first time I watched it that the grenade used at the end left Brad Pitts hair (and body) perfectly intact.

I think I'll watch it again just to enjoy the all be it being rather far fetched action
This would have been a much more realistic movie if we Brits had made it which sakes the question why we don't make any war films anymore
Ahh yes with plenty of brew-ups......not Shermans...tea pots :P

Agreed...the tanks and vehicles were top notch.

I had the same thoughts when the grenade was dropped in. I was expecting a rather large "kabooooom"...but only heard a dull thud, and then expecting the inside of the tank to be decorated with various shades of red and flesh...only to see some tiny marks on Mr Pitt :)

C'mon now wouldn't want to upset the ladies with Brad wearing his intestines as earings

No kidding! I think I even saw some panzerfaust or panzerschrek in the German column, but I can't be sure as my mind had been numbed by the preceding hour and a half :)

Cheers

Think Humphrey Bogart would have been better pick, too bad we're 50 years late with him! does any one remember original "Sahara" circa 1943? "Grant" tank given it's first good look at by American public then.
