Happy new year to you ( and anyone else reading too )

This is a bit different. I'll just follow along with 453 and see how this goes.
Cheers, Rick H.

Great choice Gary. Looking forward to the first instalment of this large project. Good luck

The cabin has a badly molded piece( red circle ) , nothing that can't be fixed , but not the usual Dragon quality.
The bevelled edges are also not flat , looks like the mold was getting old when this was made.

Thats a shame Gary, lets hope the rest is better.
John.

Apart from the fact i can't remember where i put that cabin piece to dry so i wouldn't knock it on the carpet .......

The amount of flash on small parts is not what i expect from Dragon

LHS suspension system installed and main body has an initial / partial coat of paint on it.

That's looking really good Gary, too bad about the flash. A tired mold perhaps.
Cheers Rick H.

Hi mate , I can't see that causing you a problem apart from a few choice words :smiling2:
Thar second photo looks good. :thumb2:

Found the ''cabin'' , ( even though i put it safely out of harms way i managed to knock it onto floor , so had to go looking ) , so attached to deck.
Not up to some of the work done here , did some part replacement/alteration. ( this kit has proved i need to stay at 1/35th and up, 1/48th at a pinch)
Have replaced the outlet from the exhaust units with brass tube (A) , 1.3mm outside diameter , and (B)the rods for the boat hooks with copper rod.
Deck has first coat of paint, trying to get closer to a deck grey , but the colour i need is out of stock at john's so will wait till it is back in stock.

LHS tracks added , and they are not fun to work with.
Rubber band tracks that you can glue with tamiya extra thin.
When you add the tracks to the rear idler, the band is powerful enough to snap the tiny pin that the idler is connected to.
I prefer link and length to this newer ( to me ) type of vinyl track.

Didn't know there were new rubber tracks that would glue Gary .
I used to hate along with everybody those older ones, hot screwdriver method
Knowing my relationship with tracks I'd probably rip the ilder clean off. !

You would think that if you put the info on the side of the kit extolling it's virtues , you might actually include the part ?????

Dragon have always had odd instructions, but missing a part is a new one Gary, after 1/35 scale these small scale models are a bit fiddly.:dizzy:

I wont be doing many more 1/48 or smaller, my eyesight can't handle it.
Taken a break from this for a few days and started a 1/35th Sherman , will put up a post later.

Another shocking Dragon kit! Sorry to hear about the issues Gary. Hopefully you will get a chance to go back to it one day. Good luck with the Sherman

sherman is fantastic compared to the last couple of dragon models,
will get back to my stalled builds after the sherman is finished.
