Bit of info needed guys and gal :)

Would you get a mixed uniform colour in a tank unit ?

I do know that camo and black was mixed but I'd like to know if black and field grey was mixed.

Any help is greatly received :)

As far as I know they were never mixed as issued Alan. But, I suppose you never really know, you could have one guy in field-grey trousers, maybe his originals got singed or damaged beyond repair.

Cheers Si I wonder if I could say one of the tanks is from a rival unit ,

I've had a look online and all it says is that they were three colours , it seems that unit uniform colour changed throughout the war and none had a uniform colour , I get the feeling it was as you say what was issued to each tank or tank unit

I just wanted to have different uniform colours so one crew would be by one tank in field grey and the other in black near the other tank :)

I suppose it's possible more than one unit would be in the same area

Alan, tankers wore black & sometimes SS style camo overalls from mid '44 onwards.

However SPG crews wore fieldgrey so if you have a handy STuG laying around ...

Cheers

Unfortunate I don't , I have two panzer IV Ausf.D so it's got to be early to mid WWII :)

Alan, tank uniforms were black self propelled gun units were dressed in field grey.
