Decided on a figure next, why did the German troops always look so smart?
A nice Tamiya 1:16 kit of a Wehrmacht Tank Crewman. Seems to be an officer.
This will also be my next AB victim!

Box art and sprue (just the one). Tamiya do have some lovely detail on their figures.

Made a start, did the basic assembly, decided to keep a few bits separate for painting, I will let the adhesive set for few hours, then give it all a nice prime coat....

Main body needed clamping, and the seams will need sanding down a bit. But a nice fit....

Arms are now on and the two parts of the cap joined together.

Boots now on too....

Main seams sanded down, will need a another going over with a finer sanding strip, etc, but we are pretty much ready for priming....

Little bit of progress, primed up the main components...

Then started adding some colour after a few hours....

Not quite sure why the flat black is so shiny? but I'm sure it will flatten with a matt varnish coat....
Then started added some fine details, been using my AK Real Colour pens, very handy for very small bits....

The figure is now fully assembled, and has been fully painted and had a coat of gloss varnish.
Tomorrow I will attempt to make things, eg: the little details, etc, "pop" a little more with some subtle weathering, pin washes, etc.
Then it will get its final matt coat....
Had some success using the AK Real Colour paint pens, great for the very small/fine detail, eg: edging seams to clothing, etc..
I will pop up some pics when its all done. Cheers

Its not fully dry from its final matt coat, but this nice Tamiya figure model is now completed.
My aim initially was to do a nice clean look, but after a bit of pondering, it was then changed to give him a sort of grimy look, as I assume being a tank commander/crew, it would be a fairly dirty job, with lots of grease, fuel, oil, etc.
I will pop up a completed thread, but heres a couple of pics.
NB: Can't really see from these photos but I was quite pleased with the eyes, never my strong point!

TBH those photos don't really do it justice, the edge seams on the clothing and the red edges to the hat and shoulder epilettes (sp?), etc really pop a bit more IRL. Will try to get some better pics for the completed thread. The little AK Real Colour paint pens worked great for the little tiny details....
