Hi guys

does anyone know the best glue for sticking photo etched stuff:thinking:

Cyano Acrylate (CA) which is just good old Superglue. For really fiddly little bits that are difficult to hold in position I'd reccomend getting some accelerator. This will give an almost instant bond.

On a slight tangent, I don't know if I am imagining this but I recently tried to use some CA that was opened a while ago and it seemed less effective.

I've been using superglue but doesn't seem to hold every bit, but I'm using an old tube so that might be the reason, I'm also using the gel for fiddly bits

hi taff , ive read about a lot of people using a glue called gator grip ,i havent tried it myself but it seems to be ideal for photo etch stuff.as for where you'd get it ,maybe modelzone or try littlecars.com. hope this is of some use . cheers tony

You may want to try 'Loctite Super Glue - ALL PLASTIC'.

This is a two part glue available from most DIY stores stationers etc. It will glue all plastics including the 'oily' ones which other super glues only give a low strength bond.



The first part is like a marker pen which dispenses an activator and the other half is like a normal small tube of super glue. For photo etch and other small parts you do not have to use the activator.



The glue holds after 10 secs, and after 30 seconds it is bonded.



I use it for photo etch, mirrors on canopies (protected with 3-coats of Future) and plastic to metal joints such as plastic landing lights on metal landing gear.
