I have never done a dio, but this device for making grass seems interesting (in case anyone hasn't seen it).

Static Grass Applicators

It seems to connect to a battery to cause a static charge which seems to make the grass blades stand up while the glue is setting. Ingenious.

I saw one a few years ago it was home made largely out of believe it or not an electric fly swatter,I might add the chap who made it was laying down grass on a model railway,the grass looked very effective.

Malcolm. That's exactly what mine is made from. Hence why it only cost £12. You can see the results from it on my first ever dio build i am trying to finish

I bought one of those from poundland a couple of weeks ago with the intention of doing just that, there's a very informative video on Youtube that should help with construction

There are loads of vids about using and making one for yourself on utube, the one on that site is a little pricey, if your not up to making one they are still cheaper on evilbay as flounder says

You can get the same effect by using a metal tea strainer and using a nylon comb

Comb your hair (or rub comb on a bit of carpet) and touch the tea strainer with the comb as you apply the grass.

It works and its cheap.
