his series of programmes about renovating a canal narrow boat were hilarious.

He built a mad shower heater. Made a can of beans. Made spoons to eat the beans with. Mad as a hatter but intelligent with it and just naturally funny and so much enthusiasm.

If you get a chance to watch just do that.
