discussion hair Spray technique and Life Colour German tank colours

What is a good brand of hair Spray to use for the hair Spray technique that I could get from Tesco?

Is there a particular ingredient that give this affect to look for on the labeling?

Or would the cheapest brand give the same affect as a dearer brand?

Also, I'm after the UA number from Life Colour for German Dark Yellow for late WW2 german tanks. Does anyone use Life Colour paints that could please give me the UA number as I'm not sure if it's

UA 203, 204, 212 or 250.

Always go for the cheapest hair spray you can find. It works the best and is often the most suited. Supermarket 'own brands' are great for the job.

As for the colour., I don't know that brand, I would say go for the one that looks right.

Hair Spray technique allows you to put a layer of paint on top of another colour and allow you to remove some of the top coat, so you get a chip effect to the top layer of paint.

There's loads of video tips on You Tube if you want to get more detail.

Very good if you want a worn look on tanks and cars etc if you want to show through rust effects etc..

I bought some Superdrug own brand, practically free! Am planning to paint my Tamiya Churchill in winter camo, so have been experimenting on the ubiquitous water bottle, it really works well, but with my combination of hairspray and paint, the chipping appears mighty easily, unlike a few of the YT tutorials, so a soft touch will be the order of the day! Want it to look rough as this one I found on the web!
