Kalo Pascha ( Happy Easter ) :smiling:. I realise that all you people in the Latin churches ( Catholic, Protestant ) celebrated Easter last weekend, but for the Orthodox world it is this weekend. If I do it right I can celebrate twice ! Mix with the tourists (mainly Latins) last weekend and then with all my Cypriot friends today. This is the biggest holiday of the year for us. Saturday midnight sees the end of the Lenten fast, so today is given over to eating copious amounts of meat. Lamb is traditional but Pork is also popular. So Happy Easter one and all.

Happy Easter again John C. Celebrating twice is serious eating business. Here we celebrate four different cultural festivities so its basically eating all the way throughout the year. :smiling6:
I'm heading for the breaking fast Ramadhan stalls again to get some Murtabak...lamb, egg, onions and cabbage wrapped in a thin layer of stretched pratha cooked on a skillet. Goes well with curry gravy and pickled onions.
