discussion Hawker Typhoon question

Hi guys I need some help.


Being ever efficient (or more like me just being anally retentive) I'm already eyeing up my next build. I read some material at museum in Manston in Kent and new which Typhoon I wanted to recreate, in haste I found some rather nice decals on eBay for the subject, I also purchased Ospreys typhoon and tempest aces book which coincidently has the same plane on the cover...


Guess what I have a 1/48 mkIb teardrop hasegawa in the stash! Not a car door like the subject.


Does anyone know of a decent conversion kit or shall I just kibosh it and pick another subject and wait for a car door release.

Phil - if you really want to go to town on a car-door Tiffy, Airfix are bringing out a car door version of their excellent 1/24 kit this year!!! Miracle masks can do you a set of masks for whatever aircraft you want to depict as well....

I know of a couple of conversion sets to go the other way! I'm not sure about the way you want to go, will try and check for you.

Thanks for that guys, seems like the only decent option is the squadron conversion but it looks a little ropey.


I don't want to bodge what seems to be a fairly sought after kit so might have to keep my eyes out for a car door 1/48.
