Someone recently posted a thread with a pic of a Haynes manual for a spitfire with regard to ref material, anyone remember who it was or if the owner reads this, can you tell me, how good is it? what sort of content does it have?

My dad's a big fan of the Lanc, (it was the first model we built together) and i'm thinking of getting him the Lancaster one for xmas, also I like the look of the ME109, Hurricane and Spit for myself :)

I thought it was Steves thread on the Tamiya Spit but seemingly not.

I am that man! I like the Haynes manual for the Spitfire. It's not going to give you an in depth reference for every Spitfire built but it has some nice pictures of Spitfires old and new and some good detail shots of various parts of the structure, cockpit and Merlin as well as some good line drawings.

The text tells the Spitfire story very well,Alfred Price is one of the authors. I don't have a lot of Spitfire material so as a general reference I'd recommend it.

I confess I don't have the Bf109 version though I may get it. I have accumulated manuals, parts lists etc for just about every version of the Bf109 over the years so it doesn't seem so necessary.

I didn't know there was one for the Lancaster! That I will definitely purchase.

Cheers
