A question for all aviation buffs/luftwaffe experts. I am building a He 46, converted to electric, from the Boddington plans from RC Scale Aircraft. The photos I have found of the full size aircraft all show a framework mounted on top of the right hand wingtip only. The question is : what is it?

It appears on the Hungarian aircraft also so it appears to be a He 46 thing as opposed to a purely Luftwaffe device.

This is one aircraft type that I just think looks so purposeful and rugged.

Having checked a lot more pictures it looks like some specialised antennae ? there are two insulated ends which attach to that framework, being a communications type it could possibly be listening equipment ?

I bet that there was some drag from those other wing aerial posts ? if you do get to the bottom of this fully please let us know, meanwhile will look for other pictures.

Doug McHard built one for rubber,it flew beautifully.
