Excellent work on this beast Ken.

Sod the detractors, they have no place in this hobby IMO.

We need people like you who are willing to do threads like this.

I have learnt a lot from this thread and many more people would have done so.

And as you know it's your model and you can do what the hell you like with it.

keep up the good work.

Thanks all when I get back from the funeral is will start back on this.

Looks like the MG34 ( standard issue machine gun to German infantry ) it possibly could be the larger "chainsaw" version of MG42 that was used by infantry I the field. It was feared by the allies as both could cut a man in two and fire rate was tremendous.

If it is supposed to be from " the resistance" then most probably MG34

Hello Ken.

Sorry that I don't post very often - I'm sure that you've noticed that BIG models get little interest, or a lot of nagging on most forums.

Yes - some nice (thoroughly deserved) compliments.

But not enough of them for the effort you make.

Let me say, as a Citroen builder - (one more 1/8 Traction yet to come) - what you are doing is outstanding.

You are taking this (admittedly) expensive kit to a different level.

OK, maybe not everyones cup of tea, but that is what model making is all about.

You are building YOUR model - not somebody elses.

If you were being paid a comission to make 'xyz' of a particular car, then ok - do as is requested (I know the story!)

But you are 'painting' a picture in the same way as Picasso, DaVinci, Monet - whoever.

Did anyone say to Da Vinci 'can you give La Gioconda (Mona Lisa) blonde hair?'

Or Picasso - 'Could you paint Guernica as the 1st World War?'

Do what you are doing.

It's bl--dy great.

And when all is finished, send me a LOAD of pics to add to my CD for everyone else to benefit from...!

Roy.

looking great Ken,do real like that MG34,

what scale is that one and where did you get it plz, :)

Thread owner
Thanks Roy I take that as a huge compliment coming from you, moni its the same scale as the car 1/8 I got it from the tankzone.

Looking great to see the updates from you Ken and the Citroen. I don't think there's any modeller on here that thinks they are bored of seeing the ideas that are coming out of this build or any build that you create.

Lobe the work your doing on the MG34. Question:- did you get any ammo drums with the MG or belts of ammunition? ( would like to see that on the back seat?

Cracking progress

Regards

No ammo but I plan to scratch some ammo boxes and a crate of molotov cocktails.

Ken, It's looking fantastic.

You're a real wizard with the weathering

I saw a 1:1 scale in Normandy in 2014 with the Cross of Lorraine painted on the doors.

It brings back memories :)

I also like the idea of Rene Artois in the back :D
