Just a quick note to say hello.

Rest assured 'Admin' and all we haven't joined up to spam.

Simply to say if ever passing pop in for a coffee if online here or FB pop by for a laugh.

We are hopefully not your average joe store, abit barmy but at our heart we believe in great service at great prices (cough within reason - we do have bill's to pay and people to keep employed!!)

Any questions just shout or message us.

Feels like a nice forum with some real characters.

Oh before I forget.....

If anyone know's where I can find a MiniArt Morgan Three Wheeler kit let me know. We have a customer who's brother is 90 this year and he's asked us for a hand to help find this kit for him to present to his brother for his birthday as it was his brothers first ever car.

Trying desperately to help him out.

Thanks in advance for any help on this the chaps a gem :-)

Hi Stu and welcome.

Just though to say this is a very nice forum indeed. I know that well left and had to come back.

John who runs the forum from his own pocket and with his great team of moderators (may have gone over the top there ) also runs the shop from here.

I hope and think I I speak for most when I say that having a rival on the forum would be most unfair in the circumstances.

This may not be the case but I thought it worth mentioning in a friendly manner.

Kind regards

Laurie

Hi Laurie

Point noted wasn't aware a store owned the forum. However, owning my own forum too not within this model sector I wouldn't discourage stores from engaging there customers it for me encourages a healthy level of keeping people on there toes so to speak.

I would have an issue if every post was simply plugging away there wares and being a part of the community.

But always open to good debate on topics...

Then Stu why not join as an individual rather than in your first post advertise your business which is what it is

blantly doing. Just by the Avatar alone. I think that is a fair summary ! o_O

I only speak for myself but I considered this forum here for the use of individuals and not the promotion of

commercial activities by other members. ;)

Because I was looking for a Morgan 3 wheeler for a customer and thought that using some forums to help source one for a customer was a good idea.

Which we found today.... I would have thought some on here would appreciate the extra effort some of us goto to help a customer.

lets not forget in your own words the forum is run by a shop for who's benefit !!

Listen I'm not here to plug if you can't accept it then fine but I've simply tried to help a friend and ironically posted today a link to a video I saw yesterday for Star Wars that has some interesting modelling elements etc.

I think if there is a issue then a Mod or even John would intervene. Glad you managed to source the Morgan.

Not my own words at all please get your facts together and straight. John started and ran this forum well before the shop came into existence.

If that was the case why so many fine words and gratuitous self given accolades about your own company. Why not do the deed under your own name ?

Hi and welcome

I can't see a problem with trying to help someone out to be honest that's what we're here for to get help and give help

Just spotted this thread.....

Not wishing to stoke the fire too much, but I agree with Laurie and Peter.

Others might not agree, that's fine, but to me it reads like spamming - full of self praising and advertising your 'shop' - whatever way you try to disguise it.

Well done for acquiring the kit, but this thread is what it is - no question.

I'm surprised the mods haven't added to the comments.....

I do agree with your sentiments totally Ian. My gripe is the way in which it is being done.

Each of us on here tries to help the other but with out ulterior motive or reward other than a grateful thanks.

I am not one to talk as i often publicize my own website on this forum: however for me it comes down to is this forum hurt by the website being promoted.

My website for example showcases completed models, it is not a forum and i would be surprised if members were to leave this forum for my website (as they are tailed differently). However, a shop wishing to drum up publicity and generate sales may hurt this forums shop.

Ultimately we will never know whether Models4Hobby started here to generate sales or to genuinely help a friend. Lets not fight over it guys; that's down to Ian and his moderators. I personally love this forum because everyone is friendly and rule are not stupidly enforced like they are on some others.
