Im building a Diorama and i am looking for wall paper to fit the inside walls of the Mina art building that i am doing, i dont want to just paint the inside walls i am trying to make it look a little authentic with a bombed out house.

Does anyone know where i can buy wall paper for the kit, it has to be in 1:35th scale and pref be an old pattern type to fit in with the theme (France world war 2), i have tried net merchants but they just have a plain blue two tone wall paper!

If anyone has any or can let me know where to look id be very grateful.

Ok you have a computer, you probably have a printer..... See where this is going?

Try a google search for wall paper, houses, or the like. You should be able to find something you can download scale up or down then print out. I dont know if you are artistic but in those days any patterned wall paper would of been quite simple I would think.

but then again being France they might of had a bit more style over things.

I would start with Google and see what that throws back.

Forget that last suggestion. Searching for wallpapers on the WWW brings up some very "interesting" pictures, but not some thing you would hang on your wall- in war torn France at least. Did find a few I rather liked but SWMBO said NO WAY!!!

I would recommend that you had a look at this place and some of the links at the bottom of the page- miniature and dollhouse regency wallpaper samples

Seems that they are at about 1/12 scale so you might need to scale them down a bit. As for paper to print them on I would suggest the thinnest you can get hold of. Air mail paper sort of paper-

Hi Guys

Thanks for that, there are some great examples to pick from, once again thanks.

And the French stuck wall paper on everything, even doors! It is/was often an apalling Laura Ashley type floral design. I actually stayed in a farmhouse in France a few years ago that still featured this interesting effect. Finding the door after a few glasses of red could be a challenge.

Cheers

Hi Steve

Ive seen many programmes on the tv where you see folk looking at buying french farm houses and you are right they do wall paper everything.

And some of it is revolting to say the least...but i suppose if you like flowers!!
