I'm having real trouble masking my wheel arches on my revell gti.

Problem is my knife is so sharp I cant get a consistent curve.

Has anyone got any tips I can try to make my masking consistent when I cut it.

Basicly the wheel arches are black and what I was trying to do was mask the arches so I can start painting them in. The problem isn't finding the lines, it's cutting them as my knife seems to follow it's own cut due to the sharp blade, not that of the line on the masking. So instead of getting a nice even curve, I get a jagged uneven line. I had to undo re sand and bring it back to Barr plastic as it looked so bad.

Use blue toc, or preferably whit tac which is a bit more malleable.

grab a ball, roll it in your hands to warm it up, then on a flat surface, roll it and roll it and roll it until you have one nice long tube, and use that to mask out the curve, as it's not permanent you can move it about a bit and then you can use tape on the bits you don't want to paint but don't have to be so precise.
