Ok,I,m after some help with LED,s and Fiber optic,s for my 1/12 Robby, :D

1st of all someone hear did give a link to a chap who is very helpful, but I lost it,

at the very top there is a yellow flashing one,can be from 3mm to 5mm,

2x what im calling his ears,are blue,one,

which will need to be ran in fibre optic,as there a sharp bend,2mm or 3mm

bottom of his heahd is a bank of 4 red flashing ones that also need to be ran off F/O,

In 2mm or 3mm,

for his chest,will need 2 or 3 ,5mm or 3mm one,s

2x white just below the blue in his chest for the controls,

so if anyone is able to help me a little with the DIY,, I have in mind would be greatly appreciated

Monica,

Try these people ........... http://au.rs-online.com/web/c/displays-optoelectronics/leds-led-accessories/visible-leds/?sra=p&r=t

I buy loads of stuff from them here in UK for our workshops.

Fibre optics are not the best for bending, trust me I busted loads doing the lighting for that 1/24 Huey. Heating gently can work...but, too much it shrivels, too little it can kink and you get no light from the end.

Best thing to do is get either a wiring loom made up that incorporates all you need with plenty of wiring, you could always snip down and connect all to connector block inside the body.

Si:)

ta Peter,Si,for helping,

will have a look at that and see if i can make some sense of it all,

can you heat the F/O in hot or worm water to be able to bent it ?

can the F/O be cut to what length that you need ?

or how close dose the resister need to be to the LED ?

that's what i was thinking of doing with the loom, then just the 2 wires out to switch and power,

its only the ears that are the hard part because they have 90/o bends in them,

the rest is all straight runs, ;)

The resistor can be anywhere on the wire IIRC.

Not tried hot water to bend, defo worth a try Moni.

And yes, you can cut F/O down to any length.

I wired all up to a common connector, this was then wired to a simple on/off switch that incorporated the batteries-made life a lot easier.

ta Si,

will start to get things,

need wire as well,so some think like a 20g or 22g should be fine ii think,

and holders for the LED,and F/O,
