:strong:Hi all i have two problems i hope someone here can help with, i have an Italeri 1:35 scale schnellboot which i will be building soon and i nhave a slight problem with the paints required, the main hull colour is somthing called schnellboot white can anyone tell me if this can be mixed using tamiya colours or even better where can i get the colour from? The second is the lower hull colour turns out to be gloss red is this correct? As a rule i ususally only build 1:35 scale armour and i use tamiya acrylic paint because it is easy to airbrush, so iam a little in the cold here folks so i hope some one can help.

Morning Scott, a mate of mind has made this kit-not without a few problems either! He found that Vallejo Model Air Colour 993 was a very close match to the original RAL9002 colour-it's a pearl grey colour from looking at the finished article. The hull was done in a red-brown so I would think any of the 'hull red' colours on the market would do. Keep us informed on how the build goes! Patrick

Hello Scott,

I've just had a look on 'you tube' for you and there are photos and movies of your boat there....One even been converted to R/C and is buzzing around on a lake!

Hope this is of some help.:pirate:

Cheers,

Ron

Just googled it.....Type in 'painting an italeri schnellboot' and there is loads of stuff on other forums etc. NOT as good as here, of course!!

Here is a link that helped me a lot when I built my 1/72 boat

SCHNELLBOOT index page

I went with the camo scheme, it took me about 2 months to paint everything but I really like the look of it.

For the base coat I just used light grey, the camo colors are light blue and light and dark grey.

I've thought about doing the 1/35 scale version, just need to get the $ to buy it.

Hope this helps
