Hi i am new around here and i thought i would introduce my self. My real name is matt. First time really building scale, i tried to get into GW fantasy and 40k 4 years ago, but my painting skills are terrible so gave that up, but just recently been looking back into modeling GW stuff and Scale model. I have myself a few Vallejo Paints ( much better than GW in my opinion) loads of tools, and more recently just got an Airbrush. I was doing some research about painting Mini's and a good tip at getting better with painting is to build and paint stuff you would not normally do. I got my self a Revell Westland Wessex HAS Mk3 1:48 and a Revell Tornado Tigermeet 1:72 kits. I am gonna try and post my progress but any help and advice along the way would be amazing.

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the forum, it is a great place and is full of some very friendly and very helpful people...

Andy...

GW is overpriced for everything, there is a slump at the moment of WH etc due to prices not just from GW but from private sales.

Welcome Matt, nice place this and full of useful tips and some really helpful folk.

I used to play a lot of warhammer 40K in my teen years. Battletech as well.

It's where I learned some of my more advanced tricks of wearing and weathering, and the first time i had heard of the term "dry-brush".

This place also seems to collect guys named "Steve"...

Hope you like it here Matt. Loads of help any time you need it. There is also a wide range of skills here so this is the place to be. Some just starting out some well on the road. All cater for one & one caters for all (Dumas near).

Constructed the Revell 1/48 Wessex a bout 9 months ago. Nice model to make. Lots going on Rotors are fun and the pieces so delicate. Lot of control wires on the out side. Just give a shout if you need any help with the wires as it is not very clear. I can always get some close ups of mine which should explain it all. Looks good on the shelf. Merlin Helicopter is the present one when I can find the time Pauline keeps pinching it.

Upload anything Matt, if it is a kit, plastic, metal, wood or moulded from old carpet, makes no difference if you have turned it into some sort of model then it has a place mate. Besides, GW is to scale, sort of, they are 28mm or above for that scale environment.
