boats not as good as tanks...but just thought i would point out it was nice....oh and erm....BIG!.....and oh erm...Expensive!!

...and a bit too sophisticated maybe? You see anyone can blast around the back garden spinning around in circles and scaring the wotsits of of the squirrels but it takes a bit of skill to manoeuvre a ship in a bit of a breeze!!

I know nothing about boats, but that is beautiful!

But v. v. pricey!

I might even be converted from aircraft with a model like that

agreed with Bunker on his last post above, ok boats dont do wheelies etc like cars but they are fun to enjoy and very relaxing to sail.

A few of the guys at the local club where I sail do boats till lunchtime, After that they can then be found flying powered r/c planes and gliders in the afternoons...best of both worlds if you ask me !!!

Regards.......Mark

I think this is a beautiful model, bit out of my price range plus not my thing. I'd love to make a modern Royal Navy ship, but I havn't seen any, so far.

An excellent model that must have taken the builder quite a few YEARS to make.

It is a shame to have to sell something that is in a way, a part of you.

The person who will eventually buy this item, will be getting a gift at that price.

I have built items that have taken me about a year or more to make and it is devastating to have to part with them, so imagine what this builder, is actually going through with this sale.

This side of ANY sale is always forgotten, in the frantic greedy rush to grab a bargain.

Neither has the Royal Navy. They haven't got any ships worth mentioning.

I always loved those they had in the window of our RN recruiting office though.

Exeter is lovely. The River Plate action is one of the most interesting battles during the war and always enjoy reading Dudley Pope's novel.

I'll :shutup3: now and get back to my airliners.

I agree, my steamer has taken four years so far and the thought of ever parting with her is simply inconceivable. I know downsizing always puts pressure on these things but to part with such a big part of my life couldn't happen. It might even go in the box with me!!

More realistically it is the sort of thing that you hope can be passed down through the family but then what upsets me is the number of people on these TV programs who are selling heirlooms left to them by their Grandmother etc.
