where & how

Just out of interest, how did you find this forum? if it was from a search engine which one?, and can you remember what search words you used?I think it would be useful in promoting the site to get more members :)
Hi John,

Found you through Google "modellers forum"

How I found this site

I was searching for a rc model boat and I stumbled across this site. I searched for rc model boats in the yahoo search engine.

Whaddabout me - I've found this interesting forum somehow through MODEL BOAT MAYHEM. The reason to register was to get the possibility to see some photos of Ken_C steam launch and for sure to come in touch with fans of model marine live steam :)

The short answer is no, but if you would like to start one feel free :)

Welcome to the forum

I found this site by doing a search of model forums.I've been putting models together since i was a lil' one.I stopped for a loong time, because of job, wife and my son.I've recently started again and found out that the bar has been raised when it comes to detail and realism. So I'm here to hopefully learn how to improve on this wonderful craft!I currently work on NASCAR and my beloved F-14 TOMCATS.

Hi John and all members.

I tripped over this site by accident, twas looking for information relating to building a KD Perkasa 1/24th scale and the search engine (Google) threw up some of the forum messages and Alistair Hardings site with pictures of his build which were extremely informative.

Although grey of hair this is my first foray into "serious" model building and must admit to nerves as I am finding it difficult to locate sources of really basic "how-to" information (along the lines of "what do you use to glue wood to fibre glass 'properly') [told you it was basic!!] and so far none of the "monthly" magazines seem to be running beginner series. Advice of good starter books would be appreciated.

So if I ask real stoopid questions on here please bear with me whilst I sort my head out

All the best

Hi John,

Hi many thanks for welcome Email. I was using Google to search for information on rebuilding my Perkasa from hull up. I have returned to R/C Boats after about 26 years. so I need all the help that I can get.

I will have a look at all the Forums with interrest.

All the best Mac. :great: :

Hi Mac,

What version of the Perkasa are you re-building - am having my first attempt at a 1/24th with glassfibre hull. Haven't started yet whilst I build up a few "model making" tools. Am intending putting 2 motor/props into the hull but the plans only show a single prop - so am a bit dubious. Have also seen some photos on here of other models with 'A' frames strengthening the prop shaft - again not mentioned on the plans so am hoping to get some advice once I take the plunge.

All the best and if you can put some photos up would welcome seeing them

Hi john,

I learned of the site from my son (adzam) i have been interested in model boats for a number of years,

i think the site is very good and an ideal way for model makers to tranfer knowledge and information, i am sure it could attract more members if it were better known.
