Hi rwallbanks and a very warm welcome to the Scale Models forum. I hope that you find something of interest here and benefit from the pictures and resorces we have available.

The Badger model is actually quite an old model made from a kit purchased from Grenwich Marine models, now sadly closed down. I have not been able to obtain very much in the way of information apart from an old magazine article and a couple of sets of old plans. Consequently my model is a bit of an interpretation of what i think it should lookm like in many ways.

Nevertheless I enjoy sailing her very much and she is actually a very manoeuvrable boat with loads of hull space for a nice big battery so she'll sail for a couple of hours.

I followed an invitation from a friend at cardmodels.net forum, Geedubbya.

Thank you Geedubbya!

Hi Amazyah and welcome to the cale Models forum.

We seem to have collected quite a usefull reserve of tutorials, pictures and information that we hope you will benefit from and feel free to add your own experiences with time.

We look forward to seeing some pictures of your models when you are able to post them.

Thanks for the welcome Bunkerbarge!

It's good to be here.

I am going to "lurk" around a bit and get comfortable with how everything works here and then I'll share some of my builds with everyone.

I really enjoy being able to commune with others in the modeling world and I am sure I will enjoy this forum.

I look forward to "seeing" you around here.

Russell

I am sure that you will find us a freindly enough bunch who like nothing more than chatting away about some modelling issue or another.

We seem to have representatives from just about all types of modelling and find that even a newcomer such as GW brings a whole new dimension to us in the form of card modelling.

We look forward to your input.

For Those Into Card Models Check Out A Local Business Near Me, Marcle Models Of Amersham, Bucks, - Not Sure If They Have A Website- Maybe Worth Sticking It Into Google.......

I Often See Them Exhibiting At Shows Eg Sandown Or Ascot, And Ally Pally.....

Howdy Amazyah (Russel),

Glad you found your way here, I really think you will like the people here, any type of model is fair game here, be it remote control models, static display, card, you name it, the people here love to see it.

Be sure to check out the galleries here, there are tons of great looking builds here...... but enough about mine, lol seriously, I think you will like it here.

And this is to "New to trains" :

Yes, Marcle has really nice models, its a well known card model company. Have you ever tried a card model? If not and you would like to, I have links to free train downloads, some are HO scale, other are "N" scale, but being they are done on a computer, you can make them any scale you wish.

Have a good day guys, and again Russel, great to have you here,

Greg aka GW

Marcle always advertise in Model Boats mag and some of the aviation mags as well.

There was even an article recently in Model Boats on building a card model of a British Warship which looked superb when completed.

i have done card modelling, , i was also employed some 15yrs ago as a rookie industrial modelmaker to also develop a 1 to 12th scale card model of a williams F1 car by a design agency, it was fun to do, planning all the fold lines and tabs and slots !

the result was good but oh boy the card models have improved since then !

will try and dig out a picture and scan it in !- those were the days pictures on film !!!

i did not a search on google with the words " scale model forum" i was just looking for a scale model forum and this is what i came up and i think you guys are some of the coolest people that i have met on the web!

it is the truth, ive only been on the board for 3 weeks, but i have already learned so much, and am sure i will learn much more.

I would like to introduce my self. My name is Dave and I am a card model junkie. I like to build WWII (Bomber & Fighters) and current Bombers and fighters. I am working on my second build of the F-15 Eagle. In the works I have a Card Model B-52D repainted to the right colors and using the old 100 tail number for the Archlight memorial. I am still about a year out from completing this one. But I would like to thank GW for calling me over here. I did build plastic models as a kid. I also have a 1/72 Scale B-52D in the box ready to build. It's on hold for now.

A warm welcome Dave, sounds like you have some interesting projects there,we would especially love to see some pictures of that card B-52,you are welcome to place anything into the album or even upload a few pictures here.
