New here...

Greetings from sunny Devon in SW England. In keeping with the usual scheme of things, we have our May Bank Holiday, and the rain is torrential!

I found you through a post on the 32SIG group, and liked the tone and content.

I am 55, I've been modelling since I was about 8, and I'm into plastics and control line aeromodelling.

Plastics interests centre around classic planes with big round motors, big helos, and modern AFV's.

Aeromodelling interests are Carrier Deck and electric RC, although I recently broke my leg flying one of those, and have had my leg in the air for 7 weeks so far!!! Moral of the story may be that plastics are safer, and I love all those organic solvents..... :)

I am serious about my modelling, but don't take it too seriously, if you get my drift. I look forward to conversing with you all here.

I typed "scale model forum" into Google and yours was the first site on the list, so I clicked it.

In retrospect, I propably would have chosen a different site if I had noticed that you are based out of the UK. The reason being that if you have meetings I won't be able to attend. But the people here seem nice so I'll stay and send pics.

Welcome to the forum, we have people here from all over the world, not just the UK

Sorry, I've missed a few of you recently. A big welcome to Dirty Drummer, missouricm, nigelch, peterpan, and dansls1.

I hope you all get some benefit from the forum, get something out of our resources and tutorials and feel free to post your own experiences and pictures. We are, after all nothing more than what everyone contributes.

At the end of the day, most important of all, enjoy your time here.

As for location, I live in the UK but work in the US so where we are doesn't really matter and one of our strongest contributors is Gedubbya who also resides in the US.

I was looking for information on the Brave Borderer without any luck. I used Google and entered Perkasa MTB - lots of results, and this site was one of them!

Welcome to the forum zoedog1. I hope that you can find something of use amongst our postings and that you find time to share some of your own experiences with us.

Most of all though enjoy your time here

Just out of interest, how did you find this forum? if it was from a search engine which one?, and can you remember what search words you used?I think it would be useful in promoting the site to get more members :)
googled you 'model forum' and after trawling thru many naked ladies found something to calm my nerves!

Hi Cluless and a warm welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy having a look through our archives and even get around to sharing some of your own experiences with us.

Hi another newcomer

Hi everyone,

My name's Alan but just call me Averof. I'm greek but I live in the south of France on the french Riviera. Sorry because my english might be a bit poor sometimes. My hobbies are War Greek war ships.

I've bought a 1/125 Linberg kit of the Blue Devil Fletcher class destroyer and made my own scratchbuild modifications to have it looking like the Velos wich is laying in Athen port as a flotting museum.

I've also made the Armatolos, witch was one of the two Flower class Corvette lended to Greece by the Royal Navy during Last WW. It is based on the Revell 1/72 Snowberry. I've made the ship for my Twelve year old son witch share my hobby. He's finishing his own 1/72 MTB RC.

I've also made a The Theodoros, a Greek armoured Cargo used by the US Navy during WW II. It's total schartchbuild using the Heller 1/150 Passat tall ship kit.

And i've just finished two days ago the Hades II, a ocean armoured tug, in service in the Hellenic Navy from 1958 to 1977.

All thoses ships are fully Radio controled and sail at the weekly local club meeting. I'll send photos as soon as I get to now how.

I've discoverd this Forum when looking for informations about the Vosper Pereska, whitch I will probably start in a few days.

If any member of the forum is willing to come to the french Riviera, i'll be please to meet him and envetually guide him around.

Discoverd Forum searching for informations about Perkasa Vosper on Google

Welcome to the forum PMRP. I hope you find something of use here and enjoy your time with us.

was trying to find free downloads of card model ships and came over this one. I have not had too much luck with downloads of the ships I would like because they are in Japanese. Do you know of any sites with free downloads of carco vessels in 400th scale.
