I built in the front room and sprayed in an outhouse for years. It's not ideal but you does what you does!

Cheers

After months of deciding where to build and spray without annoying the household, I bit the bullet and kicked the greenhouse into touch, rebuilt the base, and bought a 6'x8' shed/workshop late last year. I've spent the winter making it comfortable and warm, when time and money allowed, and finally tonight took delivery of my new extract today so airbrushing can commence.

It's a real escape after a testing day at work.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.

Alternative Colin.

Bedroom in the shed & model making in the bedroom. Much better arrangement.

glad my boss is not interested in modelling as i have just realised after looking at my own pictures, just how many items in that room look very similar to items we sell at work lol

now i`m not jealous but you all look so organised, and andrew you have more models in one space than my local model shop lol

Ole, I'd love to have a desk like yours but the missus would kill me. And Allyne - I'm impressed by the size of your stash (so to speak!)

i have noticed everyone seems to have lots of kits hanging around and i bet you guys will still go out and get more lol

Omg I need a station lol some here are so tidy.... At mom I have a small mobile table trying to keep it sort of organised and my stash in the garage seem to be buying more than building : )) so I am glad to see u all have the same problem......

Hi Robert, everyone ends up with some kind of stash! I know some of my contemporaries, who have been modelling for longer than they care to remember, have literally hundreds of models (and thousands of pounds) in their stashes. I have tried desperately not to build up a huge stash of models which I will never build, even if I live as long as Methuselah, and consequently have a very modest stash in single figures.

If I don't buy a particular kit in which I'm interested,I know another one will be along sooner or later!

If it's any consolation I think that I'm an exception to the rule.

Cheers

Steve

I also seem to be an exception to the rule as i only buy a specific model kit (or kits) when i've decided what i'd like to build. i have no stash as such .. maybe an unfinished project here and there, or some spare figures from kits in a box, i like to try to build and complete before i move on to something else.

Often thought about having some unbuilt kits knocking around though i must say.

heres the thing about my station................its the dining table in the living room and my wife hates me lol, when i get right into it i kind of take over, when i say kind of,i really mean it`s now my domain lol

In my experience we are a definite minority Colin. I too only build one model at a time and will finish that before moving on. I know many people will have several projects on the go simultaneously. I also tend to spend time researching my builds which to some extent precludes having several running at once.

Each to their own I suppose. I have one friend who builds several at a time to a museum (some are in museums) standard. Some take more than a year to complete! I have no idea how he keeps track of them all :)

Cheers

Steve
