I am looking into getting a cheap 1/125 scale U-99 kit to do another sunken wreck. Looking on Ebay I can across this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-Revell-U99-U-Boat-/200964381690?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item2eca691bfa

Now, that has got to be a typo or the seller has lost his/her marbles!

Si:)

Or for the same money you can buy two in 1/72scale!

Have you read the discription ?

It says water slide decals for flight deck and aircraft o_O

Stupid price ! What's it made out of gold ???

I love a bargain you dont often see them for that price ( that is the solid platinum version I take it)

Come on guys £100 is a fare price if it comes with a flight deck and aircraft

As you can not buy it on Amazon for less than £16:19 plus a rip off postage of £1:80 I should go the EBAY one Si.

Matter of interest they got the detail wrong. Captain Walker (rank Captain) was Captain of the Starling which was a RN Sloop of the Swan Class.

Certainly destroyed U boats and that may be the indication they are giving but not very well. Captain Walker used the creep system after locating a U-Boat keeping Starling virtually still and directing the other Sloops of his Group on to the U-Boat. He was actually a hunter destroyer detached from Convoy work with his group to do just that hunt and destroy whereas other groups were defence of the convoy.

I sent the seller a question asking why I'd pay an extra £85 & have to wait 3 weeks to get the kit!

That is expensive...but I suppose it is a rarer beast and if a modeler/collector is desperate for it they will pay that...not me though :D

The answer to my question regarding the extremely high price is ... they're out of stock & wish to dissuade people from buying the sub! :(

That sounds like the response you would get from a RAF Supplier when you wanted a part to get your u/s aircraft serviceable again;

Techy: Can I have this part please?

Supplier: No. There's only one left.

T: Can I have it then?

S: No.

T: Why not?

S: Somebody else might need it.
