For those of us who have wrestled with making the Airfix Concorde, take pity on how they tackled the problem of assembling the full size article, the problem was that in this case the wings had to be removed in a somewhat different manner to normal, after all you would not normally require the wings to be removed from such a large aeroplane in service but this monster had to be moved by road to Brooklands its new home, and made into manageable sections.

Study the photographs carefully and see how a specialised company manufactured special dural blocks to re-connect the wings together at the mid wing root, there must have been a lot of thought that went into aligning this little lot up ? once fully assembled and fully restored she will serve once again to show aviation technology at its best, and above all show our childrens children what a supersonic airliner looked like.Well done Brooklands museum !

Barry, check the travels/travails of the Museum of Flight (East Fortune) Concorde. Brooklands had it easy !
