When I came to Jersey from Surrey in 1962 I had a licence to drive a car and motor cycle.

When I went to obtain a Jersey Licence they decided not to mess about. They gave me a licence which entitles me to drive everything except an including an HGV provide it was not articulated. As I had never envisaged driving an artic it did not concern me. What did is that I could now be let loose on a sit on motorised lawn mower and a lorry of any size except artic.

The laugh is I could go back to the UK and swap into a UK licence with the same capabilities.

Seeing as this snowy thread has become a driver licence thread.... Why dont they make people take a driving test before they lest them loose in the snow, There are a horrific amount of people that either have no idea so crawl along at 20 or have no respect for other peoples safety and barrel along at 90. All on a road that is limited to 50.

We had more today but only a couple of centimetre.

Wow, that is some snow!! I have had only a light dusting here, but that will not deter the transport system from imploding!!

Sounds pretty standard regardless of the weather! There's always someone doing well under the limit when you need to get somewhere. The worst ones are those who travel at 70 in a 100 zone then still maintain that speed in the 50 zone and race ahead. Does my head in.

Forgot to say. Love the bear on the porch as I do the snow blade on the 4x4. Could use one of those some times...

The blade or the bear?
