Hi Rob this must be the challenge of the century. All the charts, the latest, I have looked at do not even list 237.
One forum had the answer Tamiya XF59. The member who gave that said that it was closest to the real colour BS631c.
No mention in any of the Vallejo equivalents.
But all is not lost. I have all the Herrrick series and I am building the Merlin which also uses that colour some where. But I have just discovered that my Jackal (issued as Forward Assault Group) is one issued with those little pots of paint and man o man it has a little pot of-- you have guessed-- that rare 237.
So will paint a sample to get the colour. I have the full range of Vallejo Model Air and a good collection of Model and will match up as best I can.
Looking at them in their pots Vallejo Air 71.076 sand (ivory) looks very close with 71.132 aged white a close second.

Careful Rob do not go over the top.
OK the samples. The top one is Humbrol 237
The bottom one is a mixture of Vallejo Model Air
Sand Ivory 71.075 66% Dirt 71.133 33%
The Humbrol looks greener in the picture but in the real it is the Vallejo the other way around. The picture is really to show they are closish. I went a bit far with the Dirt as the previous example was much better with about 75/25 mixture. Think you are OK with both these colours as the Sand Ivory is quite close but to light.
Not sure what you do but I normally airbrush a largish area and adjust my tones to suit. Last couple of models to get the colour in 1/48 scale I have put in white. The amount I find depends on the depth of the original colour. Have to admit I also think what it will look like on the shelf. Some suggested colours have not been to my taste. The Olive colour for the fuselage for the Merlin by Airfix are from looking at loads of photos way out.
