discussion 'Hunt the Tiger' and tabletop gaming, anyone?

Morning, folks...

So - having burnt myself out (literally - pesky German big cats!) on World of Tanks, I went to see 'Fury' last week, and now I've got the WWII bug again...

So... has anyone tried any WWII tabletop games or wargames with any degree of success...

I've hunted around and found Bolt Action by Warlord Games - anyone tried this system?

They have a contest/mini-game at the moment with loads of tanks and boxed games to win... might be worth a minute of your time, if you're into modelling or curious...

I know a few people who use bolt action, it is good but aimed at the skirmish end of the market. There is also Flames of War which is a 1/100th scale system, uses more tanks and vehicles. I used to use a set of rules called Firefly for 1/300th WWII larger actions.

I think you need to work out what sort of battle you want and the scale, also check your local wargames club and see what they are using, using the same can make finding opponents easier.

Why don't you make it fun, get a Heng Long 1:16 RC tank, also get one for a member of your family, they take 6mm bb shots so you can shoot each others tanks to your hearts content. Why waste money on board games.
