I'm having problems with my hurry ! Not the build the painting of , the panel lines are very shallow on the top of the aircraft the bottom isn't to bad although this is not my best work but I have added so smoke burn and it's covered some of the worst bits View attachment 82638

As you can see , this is the topView attachment 82640

As you can see there is next to no detail now shall I try to recover it with smoke burn and chipped paint or shall I just get another one and save the decals for thatView attachment 195661

Post shade it.

Spray some of the lightened camouflage colours into the centre of the panels and over the ribs of fabric covered surfaces. Lighten the colours with white or yellow. Add a little of the lightening colour at first, spray a few random panels, then add more, spray a few more and repeat. This should give you a nice variation in the surface as you will have several different shades.

It won't bring back panel lines or rivets but then I would argue that both of these are virtually invisible on the real aircraft seen from a distance equivalent to a scale model.

If it all goes horribly wrong (there's no reason why it should) you won't be any worse off anyway :)

Cheers

I had to adapt it due to me being a brush painter but I think it's workedView attachment 82646

now once I put the bit of smoke and chipping on I think it will look ok not as I wanted but ok , if after this it's not as good I'll buy another and save the decals for that one
Thanks for your help Steve I appreciate it

I'd keep it Alan. Get the gloss coat on, decals & weathering ...it'll look great!

Cheers Patrick what I might do is stick some other decals on and get another one and put the DB decals on that one as I want to get the decent look as the 109 I built :)

IMHO it looks great I am a novice plane builder but I would be more than happy to display that with my name on it, it's definitely a keeper ( I started and stopped my Airfix Tiger moth, not up to it yet).

Cheers lads yeah I've decided to finish it and put decals on it but save the Bader decals for the new one

A tiger moth nice aircraft mind you a biplane is not a good idea to start with , all that rigging

Get yourself the Airfix 109 it's a dead simple kit with nice deep panel lines :D
