the gepard looks interesting ian, might like to see that one built lol

mobear

I will say M88 (recovery tank)!!!

Uffff....All the variety of possibilities!!! Snow, mud, old tanks or remains, blocked roads!!! The diorama who accompanies the tank will be the key!!

But the Gepard is nice too...

Good luck with it!!

Sorry Polux I don't do Diorama. Take up way to much room ;-)

A simple base is about my limit.

I like the look of the recovery tank or the Gepard. Both unusual looking machines.

Gepard it is then. S'pose I better see if there is any goodies for it.

IanM

It's an hard one Ian, but yes the Gepard would be nice to see built up. Not see one yet, it's aways been in the box unbuilt.

Have fun, John

Some great kits you have there Ian.

I have no modern kits.

Is the Gepard a flak leopard?

That Tamiya leopard looks appealing, I did build a leopard but it was hobby boss and the fit was real bad.

Will you blog the Gepard?

Hi Aaron, yes it is the flak tank.

As its the Group build you can expect a good few pictures of the build.

"Now not a lot of people know this but do you know that the gun and tracking radar is so quick they it can be used to shoot down artillery shells with...."

I knew the leopard turret was shared but i had no idea that there was a flak version.I wonder what other varients are on that chassis

Oh duh i guess a gb is blogged.

Right then Its the gepard flaktank. Have just ordered a bit of PE for it.

Anyone know of replacement barrels for the guns?

Ian M

I've just had a shufty on t'interweb and couldn't see anything related to "metal", "Steel" or "aftermarket" barrels.

There's a couple of posts on other (inferior :) ) modeling sites where members state there aren't any available for this model, this was a couple of years ago though, so they may have introduced them.

I tried and failed mate :(

Thanks Colin. I have been looking at all the normal places for such things and can't find any either. S'pose I'll just have to clean them up a bit and make them as good as I can get them.....

One of the first I looked in.

But thanks.

Ian M

well i had another spare half hour so had another browse around ... came up with nothing again sorry.

One idea i had was if there were any other 35mm flak guns with the same barrel? had a quick look but non i found had the same charactoristics ... i didn't find anything but you have a wider knowledge of available kits than me so is this possibly a route to go down??
