The Liberty Truck was designed by the US War Department to standardise on the transport for the American Expeditionary Force. 'B' meant load capacity of 3 Tons. Series 2 was a stripped down version, with no electric lighting, only oil & carbide!
It was powered by a 52 HP 4-cylinder petrol engine - top speed 15 mph. Only the earlier series 1 reached France before the Armistice. Post-war, the lorries were sold off as surplus.

The Model dates from 2019, ICM have several boxings, a Series 1, one with soldiers & another with drivers.
Usual ICM box-in-a-box.

ICM have a deserved high reputation for their softskins & this is no exception. It's a simple model - but the lorry was simple, if not crude. The Ingates are rather large, a common feature of ICM, but careful removal & clean up shouldn't be a problem. There is an option to use the canvas tilt, or just the support hoops - which will reveal the empty load bed, begging for some boxes, planks etc etc.
As a model it is suitable for all levels of skill - but, as with all truck models with a built up chassis, getting the rails square is really important - all wheels should touch the ground!
There aren't many injection moulded 1/35 WWI trucks around, which makes this model stand out, but I can''t see this appealing to a lot of modellers - only those with a really specific interest in WWI transport or softskins in general.
Availability ?- Yes. John has it in stock in the shop at £31.49 ( + p&p)
