discussion Kit swap

I have an idea that i would like to propose an idea providing john is in agreement with it and that is to be able to do an online kit swap between forum members, now obviously if this is accepted then guidelines will have to be put in place to see that it is not abused.The thing is i find myself with kits in my stash that i will never want build and maybe others have too, so i thought if forum members swapped their unwanted kits for something that they might want then all would be good and at least i would know that the kits being swapped would go to someone who wants them. It was just a random thiought that popped into the old noodle at work and would like to hear from other members as to what they think good or bad, also i do not want to do any damage to johns online shop here so his imput would be greatly received, so tell us what you think.

I don't have a problem with it, I will have to look in to it but maybe I can add some kind of "swap shop" page where people can post what they have then if anyone is interested the can contact the person and work it between them.

What a great idea. Go for it.

I have seen this on other fora, and I have one bit of advice, however seems like John is ahead of the game.

My advice would be: Set up the Swap shop and in the first post state VERY CLEARLY that the forums only involvment is the provisison of the board. ALL OTHER correspondence after the initial "I have a Bla bla, any one want it! and "Yes please PM on the way". If the swap is accepted, Post a Item Swapped post, or even better delet the item.

Not being funny but the fora I have seen this on have nearly alway had a whole heap of 'issues' and a lot of good members either left due to servere ear bashings, or where banned due to the same!!!

Bring it on. Maybe a wanted section too?
