Langy's Airfix 1/48 Buccaneer S.2B

does this sound about right to those of you who can understand the mystical art that is involved with setting up a camera for taking better pictures than your phone does.)
I use my phone to take pictures of my models. You should be able to edit the photos on your phone or your computer. I find the colours are darker on the phone; without using too many functions as I am not a photographer and don't understand the myriad of options, I simply lighten the photo using exposure and brightness. It doesn't mess with the finished look of the paint work, but brings it to a more realistic hue

Interesting method of doing the basic paint Chris. That's a lot of hard work so far.
Matron went by as I typed; she looked interested !

Looking good. That is a very interesting pre-shade approach.

Desert pink is now all done,
done a bit of post shading with buff to bring up the highlights, and completed most of the smaller detail painting...(although there's not much on a desert aircraft),
Applied a couple of coats of mr colour satin gloss ready for the few decals that these aircraft carried and then to start dirtying it down and begin work on the weathering..

oh, And I managed to drop it whilst manhandling it around masking the wing strips..(the silver bits), and broke off the end of the port wingtip, searched for ages trying to find it but to avail, so I'm gonna have to scratch a new bit.....damn and double damn..

And an update,

After sitting and looking at the overall colour this turned out, I decided I wasn't really happy with it,
so a quick paint order, a trip back to the shed /paint shop, a bit of a custom mix and I'm currently sitting with it coloured like this.

A lot closer looking to the various on line images I keep looking at.

If anybody is interested the colour mix I've used was MRP-185 and MRP-339... (20/25% of 185 added to around 75/80% of 339 with a couple extra drops of MRP 004 White to add a touch of flavour to the mix..lol)..
don't worry too much about getting the colour spot on as it's pretty much a 'best' guess with a random colour like this, also once you start applying washes and oil work it'll darken up a tad...

Another real 'plane detail, don't know if it's in the kit instructions, but most of the blade aerials have a thick black leading edge. This was actually Mastic, rather than paint, nominally to protect the poor erks who might knock their heads against them
Richard still has the scars to prove that!
