Nice one Dave, look forward to seeing it being built.

That looks good Dave. Is it going to have that "Well used" look?\ said:Not sure if this is in the right place but .....
I commented on Jim's (Grumpa) recent D8 Caterpillar build that I'd ordered a new kit of a piece of construction equipment. Well, here it is:

I don't want to open the bags so can't do a detailed review but there are some things I'd like to mention.
It's by Hasegawa so overall the detail and mould quality look really good - they've even included a driver figure - although if you look closely enough you can see odd little bits of flash here and there. The sprues are in four different colours which may help with painting.
The two black sprues shown separately are soft rubber and contain the tracks and hydraulic hoses. There is some flash here which could be difficult to remove as it's very soft rubber.
Decals look excellent.
The instructions are nicely detailed and clear and there's a nice set of full colour pictures for painting.
It's not a huge kit - only 211mm long and 77.5mm wide with 194 parts but it looks like everything that can move, does move.
It's an unusual beastie - the arms are a wonderful example of life imitating art! The grapple is the hand from a Star Wars Droid trooper and I've seen the cutter wielded by any number of Warhammer warrior figures!
I bought mine from Japan and paid about £26 including postage and for that price I'm well pleased. It's got to be worth a look for anyone interested in construction equipment kits or even just for the novelty value!
PS Someone here pointed this kit out a couple of weeks ago but I can't find the original post. Thank you to whoever it was!

Looks good Graham....... these are very interesting vehicles....... I've found out loads of stuff on them. I believe I read somewhere. There were 23 versions with different fit and armaments.\ said:Great reads there John![]()
Got one myself today. I have three SdKfz 251 kits to build at some stage so I got this for ideas and inspiration.

Sufficient variations and kits to start a collection methinks\ said:Looks good Graham....... these are very interesting vehicles....... I've found out loads of stuff on them. I believe I read somewhere. There were 23 versions with different fit and armaments.
You could do the whole lot Graham........\ said:Sufficient variations and kits to start a collection methinksGot three to start it off although one is the venerable Tamiya Hanomag and another is the 'slightly' inaccurate Zvezda for which there is a nice Eduard PE set. I feel another project coming on
