There's a 'Saving Private Ryan' dio in there! Some nice anniversary prezzies Alan.

Cheers chaps :)

I don't know if I will use the troops in the set , they are quite detailed but they look too flat , what I meen is if you look at them from the front and the back they look ok but if you look from the side they are too thin

Also I might change it from American to British troops , anyone would think the yanks were the only ones in Normandy on June 6th

I built that very same kit when I was a kid terry if I remember rightly it wasn't a bad kit :)

I remember building one in 72nd when I was a kid as well Alan. It is one of those kits I have wanted to build again for a long time. Got this sent from the States as it was cheaper even with postage than what they go for over here.

I built the same one in the Monogram box at age 12 - had awful trouble with the booms & it ended up stuffed with bangers! My childhood way of disposing with failed builds!

Hahaha like your style patrick. Funny that I once did something to a friends action man helo only it was from a seventh floor balcony. it was one those ones that had a little motor so the blades went round. For some unknown reason it crashed and burnt. So did my backside when my folks found out

I picked these up on a recent stop over at Snetterton on the way back from Great Yarmouth this week, me and my friend went over to Hannants for a wander round as well, its nice to see so many models but its not a discount place so the majority of kits are all full price if not more. The Model Expo at Snetterton was a nice find, the Dragon 88 has way more to it than the Tamiya one including a metal barrel which I was after :)

Where are these car boot sales?? There's nothing going at my local ones :(

@dubster72:

This is my first time Ive bought some model kits on car boot sale. Every time Ive heard that people easly buying whole lots on car boot sales I was wondering if thats true. Finally today there were lots of them. Ive seen two Airfix large scale airplanes but they were in bad condition, cheap thou. Keep scanning your local sales and will finally find some:)

I must also say that I dont believe in models from charity shops. Have never seen even a small one. It must be a myth!

at those prices it would have been stupid to walk away from them, its worth just for the feelgood factor of scoring a bargain.....6 kits at £1.50 each! proper bargain! :cool: :D :D

I've been trying all my local ones around Colchester and Clacton for the last year, nothing but a 1:144 Harrier that they wanted £8 for :(

Car boot sales I visit every week and also charity shops and I can go for weeks without seeing anything at all model related but every now and then come across a few there are no guarantees you will see any at all but like the old saying goes you gotta be in it to win it and mainly I go for the exercise and I love looking at junk lol anyways good hunting everyone
