I doubt 0.05mm will make much of a difference - just thin the paint a tad more.

My first airbrush so if you have same I might be chasing you up for advice ☺ what size needle do you use ?

I mainly use the 0.4 needle as my workhorse for 95% of painting, primer, varnish, base coats. With vallejo Model Air at this needle size there is no need to thin. I will use the 0.2 needle for touch ups and detailing such as mottle. VMA needs to be thinned for this needle size.

I would not try to use a 0.15 needle with most model paints as it tends to get blocked but the 0.15 can work with MRP paint which is a very fine ink like paint.

Any bargain is a little victory Dave! I must do a Chieftain sometime, I've always had a post-apocalyptic scene in my mind. Probably something to do with growing up in the shadow of a potential nuclear attack!

first thing ive bought for about 6 months!........but couldnt resist....normally go for around £30 to £35.....picked this up on ebay for £12 including the postage!

just need to get the bench up and running so i can build it!

! have one of these and love it. sprays with no splatter and no blockages so far. I didn't think I would use the paint flow regulator at the back but after a few tries I use it nearly all the time. Thanks John, a really worthwhile purchase.

No, it's not a misplaced post that should be on a gardening forum!
This is the Asparagus fern (otherwise known as plumosa fern) which is used to make pine trees.

I'm hoping that I can do the same...

I have herd of this method,Patrick,will you be trying to preserve the branches in any freeze,?
I did try in water with PVA,kind of worked,but so hard to spread the leaves out again,
will be very interested to see how you tackle ,this one,

Moni, I'm going to attempt to preserve them with a glycerine & water mixture. From what I've read, it's 2 parts water to 1 part glycerine.
I'll keep a record of my adventures & post up the results...good or bad!

Col I found this on a website called Crocus.co.uk. The plant is £9.99 plus £4.99 for delivery. As a first time customer I also got 20% off which was nice.

There's a company in America called The Scenic Factory who sell both the preserved fern & all the bits to make fir trees, but shipping costs make it expensive & anyway, it's more fun trying to do it oneself...famous last words!

I looked & looked but could only find it either on Crocus or Waitrose via mail order. Maybe a local garden centre?
