Now had a fair grounding in using an airbrush and Vallejo Model Air which I have found to be a great starter paint with out to many frustrations in its use. Also using one paint to sort out as much as possible airbrushing without the different foibles of different paints at the same time.

Having a least the rudiments of airbrushing I can now concentrate on getting with the paint types. So read an amount about Lifecolor.

Has any one experience using this paint ? The bits and pieces I have read indicate a great gulf between those who find it brilliant and those who have terrible airbrush problems with it.

Any info gratefully received.

Laurie, I used their British desert colours set on my LRDG command car and got on really well with them. So much so that I just ordered their Luftwaffe set 1 from John.

I thinned them with water and used them exactly the same as any other acrylic. I too have read very conflicting opinions but can only speak as I find.

Give them a go!

Hi Laurie

Lifecolor is my brand of choice when it comes to acrylic based paints. Vallejo may come in convenient bottles but for the actual paint itself - it's Lifecolor everytime. Excellent covering and airbrushing qualities (if thinned properly) and a beautiful flat finish to the matte range.

Use and enjoy!

Again, can't vouch for everyone's experience but for me they're the best acrylic range around.

I have used Lifecolor a lot, great paint can be used straight from the bottle, and very good using a brush as well. The only minor drawback for me it that it can be damaged quite easily, so if I have a model that needs a lot of handling I use Tamiya or Gunze. Cheers Derek

Have any of you used their washes and perhaps more important rated them against the Vallejo Washes.

I used it for the interior on my Snatch LR with good results. I also use their Tensocrom opaques for oil, fuel and grease stains. Can't comment on using them for anything else.

I only use vallejo in my airbrushes as it works for me without any problems whatsoever. I do use Lifecolor but only for brush painting figures seems to cover well.I did try spraying through my airbrush but having used vallejo for so long I felt that it performed better than lifecolor but that's just my opinion hope your trials go well good luck cheers John

I use LIfecolour in my airbrush and find it covers well straight from the bottle. It covers well and it isn't too bad for brushing, just need a few coats. I haven't used the washes, I normally just thin down the appropriate Lifecolour colour
