So hms devonshire will soon be finished and ive been thinking whats next
original plan was to do hms ark royal for the gb as well but i dont think i could cope doing two boats on the trot
i picked this up a little while ago so thought why not
I always struggle with planes and recently thought that maybe going up a scale to 1/48 might help.....we wont mention the piper cub! Lol
i think this is amazing value for money.....i paid 22 quid......box is full of plastic.....13 sprues!.....can be made in 4 different versions
Will be the biggest plane kit ive tackled in a very very long time.....and it will be in nmf

Theres too many sprues to take a pic other than this

Natural metal finish......basically unpainted...as i understand it...which isnt quite true as a lot of times they were laquared to provided an element of protection from the elements.... the idea was that by late in the war they had air superiority so didnt need camo......didnt need camo saved weight....and they were polished...so they got quicker......didnt have paint therefore production times speeded up and got cheaper

So ive got to try and paint this in bare aluminium

A good choice for a build. I'll follow along.

Paul, if you haven't already sorted the paint, Vallejo do a nice aluminium. Model Air 71-062.

Ron
