I use citadel colours Alasdair, and its been mentioned before by a few people about the satin shine when flash is used, in reality they aren't that bad.

I posted a couple of comparison images (flash and natural light) in my 'coutances' diorama thread, if you have a look through that (and don't fall asleep:)) you'll see what they look like in 'proper' light.
