Gentlemen today's update on the diorama...bayan or tamarind tree and one of palm tree...l know it's not very exiting...but l want to update you all...have a nice evening

Yes Peter is terracotta Das Clay... fantastic product to work with... little water and you can model it as you wish.. :-)

That's a neat way of doing trees. Looks very convincing in texture!

Great work Greg. Maybe I'll dig out that packet of DAS I've had in the cupboard for a couple of years (still seems soft).

Thanks Wouter The technique is easy..
1. Real tree
2. File it clean it add branches
3. Add soldering metal to have look of a bayan tree
4. Cover with toilet paper with pva glue heavy diluted
Voilà...

Dear Peter If it was not "touched" by air...it can last for years.. and once again it's perfect to mimic the bark...
