Ever forgotton something when flying your model with dire consequences ? well there are no excuses because that mishap could have been avoided with a checklist ! every full size pilot knows the consequences of forgetting something before take off so this discipline will help you with your model as well, here are a few starting points, you can add or remove anything depending on your particular model-

/Check security of propeller.

/Check the condition of the propeller for nicks and breaks,a nick will escalate the life of your prop, and you did remember to balance it ?

/Check security of all controls, making sure that ailerons, elevators, rudder are all securely hinged.

/Check that everything is working in the correct sense, full & free movement as well.

/Make sure that control surface horns are secure and not coming adrift.

/Check to see that engine has not vibrated loose.

/Ensure no nicks or air leaks in fuel lines.

/Make sure the fuel tank is not leaking or the clunk has come adrift.

/Is the undercarriage secure after that last heavy landing ?

/Wheels track true and collets firmly in place, nothing worse than loosing a wheel in long grass and not being able to fly.

/Wing securely attached with bands/bolts.

/Tailplane securely glued in place and not ready to part company with the fuselage ?

/Radio antennae, securely fixed in place away from prop, also no breaks or wound around anything internally ?

/No nasty warps in the wings since you last flew ?

/Pushrods secure and any safety devices firmly in place ?

/No hangar rash anywhere ?

Well those will do for starters, having been flying for years I can tell you that if something can go wrong or come adrift then it will.

Dont take anything for granted, you are the operator responsible for your complex machine.
