Hello Gents. I have this bust I painted all in acrylics and added some finely sifted baking powder to simulate drifting wind blown snow. the face is painted with more pinkish hues to represent the extreme cold the marines endured . it reached -37 F. I found some pictures I used as reference of the face uniform and snow. I hope you all enjoy.

thank you gentleman for the kind words. I was sitting in my painting room watching it snow and decided to pull this kit out and have a go of it. glad it turned out decent.

Excellent work! Santa brought me "The Last Stand of Fox Company" that has some of the same photos. Their battle against 40:1 odds in -37 F weather should make a compelling read. PaulE

thanks for all your comments. I will have to find that book sounds like a good read. when I left the army I took a job at a cabinet making company and the owner was a marine at the Chosen. he said very little about it.but he did say after the war he left the marines and joined the army lol. he fought in Vietnam as well. he was a great man .
