I'm building a Dambuster Lancaster at the moment. I need to mask the small windows down the side as I don't think I will have a steady enough hand when it comes to painting around them. I have heard a product mentioned about a liquid mask. Anyone know if this would be suitable and which is the best to use? Thank you in anticipation.

Definitely worth considering liquid mask for small parts like this. It can be applied with a toothpick and comes away cleanly when removed. Personally I use Bob Dively liquid mask, but there a few options out there.

Hi Paul. Finished a Bristol Freighter recently & some paper masking was missing. Also on the present model an Islander on the whole screen.
Used Mr Hobby Masking Sol R. It is water based ( there is another Sol which is ammonia based I would not recommend.). I used a very fine brush. Placed a spot of liquid in the middle of the screen then used that to load the brush & push rather than paint the liquid into position. Also used a toothpick which works well.
Comes away easily after completion of painting. The water based one you can wash the brush. The ammonia one fom me almost imossible to clean also has a horrible smell.
