Tamiya Mazda Eunos..... .thats a MX5 to you and me......also known as the Miata in Norf Amurrica

To be precise its a mk1 when it had the pop up headlights.....came out in 1989........and so did the kit!.....basic kerbside kit......a few dodgy mould lines and a little flash to sand off

At least being plastic it won't rust as savagely as the real thing

A mate of mine has pretty much built his business from repairing them, so every cloud and all that.

Nice kit to build, did one last year. My mistake was to remove the windscreen frame support to early and , of course, I cracked the upper frame.
I added some resin parts from an e bay seller to match my mates1:1 vehicle. He has rims, spoilers sill extensions, open headlight pods etc. at reasonable prices and quality.
Good luck with the build, will be watching avidly from the front row.
Any idea on exterior and interior colours yet?

Exterior will be red....just cos i like red cars lol

Interior will be probably black and tan

Red is classic and what I painted mine in but I did the interior in dark brown and beige.

On hold til after crimbo

Ive got the chassis all done......the interior is all done........then i messed up the body shell

Big paint run on a rear quarter.....so its currently in the brake fluid pond to get the paint off......and then it will go in the box til the new year for a second go at it

Reasons im not doing it now is cos ive lost a bit of interest in it......for some reason its just not trapping my enthusiasm......also ive been planning on doing a different kit over xmas and now seems a suitable point to stop the mx5 so i can prep for that

Sprayed it silver......masked a few stripes......sprayed a few coats of red.........de-masked.........clear gloss coat on top

Needs a good drying off now
