Work on the Bumerang has ground to a stop as I barely have enough green paint to cover the wheels so while I wait for more to arrive I made a start on this.

Quite a lot of plastic in the box.

Looks to be a well made kit, no signs of flash as yet so onward and upward.

Andy.

Looks like a good one there Andy!!! Meng kits should go together well and this one will keep you going for a while with all those parts too!!! Have fun...

This kit is going together well, it's a bit like Zvezda in as much as there are lots of small, sometimes fragile looking parts to assemble but that's what holds my interest. There is also a small sheet of PE, mainly grilles and covers.

There are 15 parts in this front axle and as the wheels steer you have to be careful with the sticky stuff.

A bit more done tonight, axles and fuel tanks fitted along with my first little foray into PE.

I did have to slightly modify the rearmost axle as the 2 caps on top would not fit properly. I spent a while trying to figure out why this was but I think it is a manufacturing fault. I am a bit anal with dry test fitting before committing to glue so it was not my mistake as I tried every which way just to see if I was doing something wrong. Anyway, no big deal and I have dealt with worse on other models.

Another chunky, multi wheeled vehicle. Probably my favourite subject.

It looks like a nice kit and you're making a great job of it.

Nice kit Andy, but the sight of those axles woulds put the fear of God into me, well done.

Thanks Andy, I do like things with wheels.
In for this build, I do like a Meng kit. :smiling3:
Thanks, they are good kits.

Cheers John, as long as you run a straight edge along the axles before using the sticky stuff all the wheels will touch the ground together. :smiling3:

Look John, all the wheels on the ground. :smiling2:

Inner floor assembled.

Front bumper bar and winch in place, not that you will see the winch unless I display the model upside down.

Drivers seat and base made up.

I had better think about painting some of the internals before I go much further.

On a lighter note I have done a little on the Cougar, not much to see but it will get there.

Only another 8 sets of belts to fit.

Andy.

Great work so far Andy!!! Lotsa parts and you got all 6 on the ground to boot. Have fun with the seatbelts…...

Lazy day today, just did a bit of painting and fitted all the belts and seats. Time consuming work doing the seat belts and unless all the doors are open and the finished model has internal lights no one will ever see them.

Also painted the inside of the bodyshell but forgot to take a picture.

Andy.

Nice work. :)

Having built the Meng Bradley with full interior I know what you mean about not much of it will be seen.

You’d be surprised how much you can see if you leave all the hatches open. Light coming from the other side (like through cab windows or an open front hatch) will allow you to see a lot more than through just a single hatch.

I will see what it's like before finally fixing the doors, the armoured windows have a blue tint to them so will cut down the light. I do intend to have the top gunners hatch open so that should help, if only it was easy to make the doors open and close.

Andy.

Nice work on the seats Andy. I look forward to seeing the eight crew men all painted up and sat in their different poses ;)

Great kit of the cougar. Remember when it and the panda version came out, meng one came slightly on top, to eide was the main criticism, but dont think anyone is going to stand there going its 1mm to wide. Keep up the cracking work.
