Meng T-72B1

Great to have you all looking in chaps, hopefully I’ll get it together without any trouble 😊.

Managed to get back to the bunker for a bit more building this evening. The torsion bars/ swing arms where added and to make things easier, Meng provides a jig to keep everything in the correct position while glueing….

Never seen a jig like that provided in a kit. Very useful. Does Meng do that for any other of its kits?
I know that the Meng BMR-M3 mine clearing vehicle has the same jig…..being it’s a variant of the T-72 and uses parts of this kit. I’ve not built enough Meng kits to say conclusively.

The next step was to get the tracks together, which are workable.

You get a bag of tracks and a bag of pins and a small clear plastic jig to help.

Cleanup of the tracks was absolutely minimal with a single sprue attachment point on each track link. It was a little fiddly to get the tracks into the jig as there is a small location point on the opposite end to the tack pin.

Initially I didn’t even notice the location point and broke a few but luckily enough there are plenty of spares.

The instructions say not to use any glue on the pins but I found they just fell out once snipped off. So i carefully added a spot of revel contacta to the end of the pins….. and it didn’t take too long to get an entire run together.
